06.01.23 CRU Phone Bank

Now is the time! Two Weeks LEFT! Call NYS’s Legislative Leaders: Let’s secure a better future
With ONLY two weeks left in the legislative session we’ve built serious momentum for three of our Civil Rights Union priority bills:

Parole Justice bills moving through committee! Just yesterday Fair & Timely parole was advanced out of both the Senate Crime Victims and Corrections Committee and the Assembly’s Correction Committee. Elder Parole also advanced through the Assembly’s Corrections Committee. Huge news!

The Challenging Wrongful Convictions Act, which already passed the Assembly in March, today reached 32 co-sponsors – enough votes to pass the Senate.
Now is the time for all hands on deck and your voice is essential for getting these bills across the finish line.
