Syracuse Mayor Letter of Support for HAVP Funding

As the New York State executive budget session comes to a close, Mayors from Kingston, Syracuse, and Rochester, in addition to the New York State Association of Counties, and New York State Conference of Mayors sent letters to Governor Hochul pushing for $250 Million in funding for the Housing Access Voucher Program (HAVP).

While the program did receive a fraction of the demanded funding in 2025, without increased funding for the program, the vouchers cannot go nearly as far as we need them to go. In the crises exacerbated by federal cuts, well-funded solutions are scarce for people in search of homes, and many are at risk of losing the housing they have.
