Jawanza Williams
Lead Organizer


Jawanza James Williams is the Lead Organizer for VOCAL-NY, where he organizes low-income New Yorkers across the state, having transitioned from being the organization’s Youth Organizer. Jawanza is an alumni of Public Allies of New York.

He was selected for the True Colors Fund “40 of the Forty” list honoring the advocacy work of LGBTQ youth who have experiences with homelessness. He is also a member of the NYC HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA) Advisory Board. Jawanza  holds a B.A. in English from Schreiner University.
