NYC Study Groups on "The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness"

We are excited to announce more study groups on Michelle Alenxander’s book The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness this summer in the Bronx and Brooklyn. People who are formerly incarcerated and their family members are encouraged to participate. VOCAL-NY is co-sponsoring the study groups with the Campaign to End the New Jim Crow and Bronx Defenders.

Brooklyn

When: Mondays from 5pm – 6:30pm beginning on June 4th to July 16th

Where: VOCAL-NY office at  80A 4th Avenue (corner of 4th ave and St. Marks). Take the 4,5,2,3,N,R,W,Q,D to Atlantic/Pacific Street Stations

Bronx

When: Mondays from 5pm – 6:30pm beginning on June 4th to July 16th

Where: Bronx Defender’s 860 Courtlandt Avenue  Bronx, NY 10451 (between 160th and 161st Streets). Take the 5 train to Melrose Avenue – E. 161 St. station.
