Alyssa Aguilera has worked at VOCAL-NY since 2013, and became the Co-Executive Director at VOCAL-NY in January 2016; she was previously the organization’s Political Director. She oversees the organization’s advocacy, direct services, development, and communications work. She also leads campaigns to reform discriminatory policing practices, create alternatives to the drug war, and address the collateral consequences of mass incarceration.
Alyssa also serves as Executive Director of VOCAL-NY Action Fund, the affiliated 501(c)4 electoral and lobbying arm that has helped elect progressive candidates in New York City and State. Alyssa has previously organized in the Health Justice program at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, Boston Worker’s Alliance, and SEIU’s Justice for Janitors campaign in Texas. She earned a B.A. from Harvard.
